Rowan’s Law and the OWBHL
The OWBHL is a proud member of the Ontario Ball Hockey Association (OBHA) and adheres to the OBHA Concussion Policy. It is the OWBHL’s expectation that all OWBHL participants and their parent(s)/guardian(s) will abide by the OBHA’s Concussion Code of Conduct as well as its Removal from Sport Protocol and Return to Sport Protocol.
All OWBHL participants and/or their parent(s)/guardian(s) must review Ontario’s official Concussion Awareness Resources as well as the OBHA’s Concussion Code of Conduct before participating in OWBHL activities.
An OBHA Rowan’s Law / Concussion Code of Conduct and Concussion Awareness Resource Acknowledgment Form must be submitted to the OWBHL to be eligible to participate in OWBHL activities. No participants will be permitted to participate in OWBHL activities until it is in receipt of a completed Acknowledgment Form.
Any and all suspected concussions must be reported immediately to OWBHL President, Nicolas Brunette-D’Souza, at email@example.com. Any participant suspected of having a concussion will be subject to the OBHA’s Removal from Sport Protocol and Return to Sport Protocol.
Participants suspected of having a concussion will be ineligible to return to OWBHL activities until a medical practitioner has cleared the participant to return to play, and documentation confirming such has been presented to the OWBHL.
